Artists & Friends
Welcome to the official Artists & Friends portion of the site. We wanted to "think outside the soundhole" so we brought a videographer on board to help us not only showcase what we feel are the best, high end acoustic guitars on the market, but to also tell the backstory of those artists who play our acoustics and have since become friends of the company.
You often hear the word "endorsement" in the big business acoustic guitar world. That's not a word we use around here at A. Davis. Every artist using one of our acoustics is a friend of the company. We don't pay them to talk about our guitars, nor do we expect them to play our guitars exclusively. We know every great player loves a variety of sounds. Our goal is to make sure all great players at least have an A. Davis (or several) in their possession when the song or set list calls for it.
Click on the graphic above (or side links) to check out footage on some of our friends. We've recently shot footage of two stellar session and touring guitarists in Jeff Pevar and the legendary Dean Parks. We also sat down in the studio with Grammy award winning producer Mark Mancina and his handful of our guitars.
You'll also find live, backstage footage of the Pat McGee Band jamming on a few of our guitars. McGee and guitarist Brian Fechino featured our Monterey Cypress A1 on their latest release "These Days (The Virginia Sessions)". There's also a six part, 'Unplugged' series featuring Paul Barerre (Little Feat), Steve Postell (Pure Prairie League) and Peev from this year's NAMM show.
Next up, we'll sit down with producer Mark Mothersbaugh (of DEVO), Crosby Loggins (son of Kenny), the Doobie Brothers and hopefully blues sensation Joe Bonamassa, who is playing an SD1.
Stay tuned for more. We're committed to this section of our site. We feel it's a great way to showcase our guitars as well as those playing them. We hope the lack of the term 'endorsement' assures future A. Davis owners that the words you're hearing from these artist are genuine. This isn't a contrived marketing ploy. It's heartfelt commentary and stellar guitar playing from those who love own our acoustics.
